The iconic BLIZZARD jacket is one of JACK WOLFSKIN’s most popular products – a windproof trekking fleece that is hard wearing, amazingly versatile and very stylish. The 3-ply WINDSTOPPER FLEECE laminate has a microfleece outer layer and a soft, brushed flannel reverse side, a combination that delivers total windproofing and measured insulation performance. The trekking-specific detailing includes CORDURA 500 D shoulder patches designed to cope with a heavy pack, venting pit zips for adjustable air flow through the jacket and a lightweight, roll & stow hood for protection against wind and light rain. GORE WINDSTOPPER
Developed by W.L. GORE & Associates as a 100% windproof membrane with a high breathability specification. We use various versions of the GORE WINDSTOPPER® fleece, with the WINDSTOPPER® membrane firmly bonded between two fabric layers (3-ply version). Different fleece and mesh materials are used on the inner and outer surfaces, depending on the use to which the garment will be put.
VENT PRO SYSTEMThe VENT PRO SYSTEM is a generic term for various ventilation options on our weather protection jackets, trekking pants and shirts, which delivers a flow of fresh air at protected areas of the garment and significantly enhances the wear comfort:
1. Venting pit zips: zip-adjustable air vents located in the weather-protected underarm region of many of our jackets and soft shells.
2. Thigh vents: some of our trousers incorporate zip-adjustable air vents on the outside of the thighs.
3. Back panel vents: shirts with the VENT PRO SYSTEM feature an air vent in the back panel, which is generally backed with a breathable mesh fabric.
ARTICULATED ELBOWSThe elbow of the garment is anatomically tailored to conform to the natural biomechanics of the elbow, thus significantly improving freedom of movement.
ACROBAT CUTA design feature of our jackets. The section of the jacket where the arm meets the sleeve is generously tailored to allow the arms to be raised above the head without the hem of the jacket riding up.
LIGHT HOOD IN COLLARA lightweight 'emergency' hood in windproof, water repellent and breathable fabric. The hood stows neatly in the collar of the jacket and has an elasticated drawcord for volume adjustment.
