At first glance, it looks like a classic leather mountain boot. But the DEVIATOR is far more than that.

A TEXAPORE O3 membrane beneath the robust, full grain leather renders the boot both waterproof and exceptionally breathable. And our footwear ventilation system optimises climate comfort. The system uses a second tongue with perforated padding to create an air expulsion channel at the instep. A perforated felt footbed and perforated padding and mesh lining on the sides and the collar also provide ventilation.

The sole of the boot is also worth a closer look. Developed by Jack Wolfskin in collaboration with Vibram, it is a sturdy mountain boot sole with four different tread zones: a ‘climbing zone’ at the toe provides better friction and precision on small footholds, while the other zones deliver the secure grip and stability required on varied terrain and steep descents. The stiffness of the sole is engineered specifically to cope with rocky terrain and scree.

In general, our waterproof footwear features a waterproof and breathable membrane incorporated into the footwear in a ‘bootie’ construction. The membrane bootie encapsulates the foot from the sole upwards and extends to about two thirds of the height of the uppers. Our TEXAPORE footwear utilises a 4-layer laminate, which consists of a support fabric (mesh), the membrane itself, a backing fabric and the lining material. The two versions of TEXAPORE, TEXAPORE O2 and TEXAPORE O3, differ in terms of membrane performance and backing fabrics and have different moisture vapour transmission rates (breathability). In the O3 version, the use of open-pored backing fabrics and a more high performance membrane produces a 50% higher moisture vapour transmission rate. VIBRAM QUADRO ZONIC

This state-of-the-art sole was developed in cooperation with VIBRAM especially for the tough demands of mountain hikes, via ferrata, and treks. It comprises five different elements: - a robust, durable rubber outsole - a lightweight PU midsole with special cushioning element in the heel area, - cushioning PU elements at the front of the foot and the heel, - an extremely robust nylon shank for good rigidity - additional cushioning and ventilating felt insole The outsole has four special zones: - STABILITY ZONE: for high stability - GRIP ZONE: for outstanding traction - BRAKE ZONE: prevents slipping and enables stoppage - ROCK ZONE: special toe section for climbing

SHOCK ABSORB SYSTEM PLUS

A special detail on our footwear, designed to cushion the strike action and taking the form of softer shock absorbing areas in the midsole. Depending on the model, these consist either of EVA or PU. The SHOCK ABSORB SYSTEM PLUS components are larger than the standard version and are also visible.
